Ableton Live Certified Trainer San Francisco

Timo Preece (Certified Ableton Trainer, ProTools Expert-San Francisco, CA) is an accomplished and highly versatile audio technologist, multi-media trainer, and electronic musician. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Ethnomusicology from UCLA and has done a number of audio projects, advanced multimedia setups and live performances with noteworthy individuals both in the U.S. and abroad.

After spending 5 years working and performing in Tokyo, he’s now based in San Francisco, where he is a director for sound arts and music technology courses at Ex’pression College. In addition, Timo conducts innovative skills oriented workshops and master classes for institutions like ElectronicCreatives, EPRO, and Pyramind. He has developed curriculum for some of the most renowned audio training centers in the U.S. and is an AVID Protools Expert, a certified Ableton LIVE trainer, and a specialist in most other professional digital audio workstations. Privately, he does consulting, live performance set-ups, studio production, and has worked with a wide variety of musicians, DJs, sound enthusiasts, and world renown artists including: DJ Shadow, Materialized, Micky Hart, Lotus, Livid Instruments, Ableton, Keith McMillen, MacProVideo, Pete Sears, Count, Beats Antique, etc.

Currently, Timo has two music projects which both revolve around Ableton Live and advanced controller configurations: Lucid Mechanism, a stylistically expansive electronic band, and GravityTerminal, solo electronic music creation and live performance.
