Timo Preece is an accomplished audio technologist, multimedia consultant, sound designer, electronic musician, and performer. He graduated with a degree in Ethnomusicology from UCLA and a Masters in Sound Design from the University of Edinburgh, UK. From conceptualizing and building cutting-edge setups for audio/visual performance, to offering inventive solutions for sound design, composition, production, and technology integration, Timo has worked with a wide variety of sound enthusiasts, companies, and world renowned artists.

Mixing & Mastering
Wanting to take your production to the next level? Learning proper techniques for mixing and mastering can make a world of difference. Timo Preece’s expert methods, tips and tricks will help get you on the road to better quality tracks.
By diving into assorted techniques, participants learn core strategies that make up the foundation of mixing and mastering.
This course will cover:

- Dynamic and time based effect processing techniques

- Compression and Side Chaining

- Automation Workflow
- Bouncing mixes and stems for mastering
- Studio Tips and Tricks
Aim:
Through a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands-on participation, this course will get participants up to speed with cutting-edge mixing and mastering techniques and methods that can be applied to Ableton Live or any other digital audio workstation or 3rd party tools.

He has developed curricula for several renowned training centers and was director for sound art courses at Ex’pression College and Pyramind. Additionally, he conducts skills oriented workshops and master classes internationally, and teaches online audio technology courses.
Currently, Timo lives in Berlin and works as a freelance sound designer, audio consultant, producer, and performer. He writes audio technology articles for Ask.Audio and develops audio training videos for MacProVideo.
